Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Anglican Companion mobile app (the "App"), published by Opirth Technologies, based in Kenya ("Opirth Technologies", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

Anglican Companion is a mobile app for reading prayer books and hymnals — in English, Kiswahili, and Gĩkũyũ — offline, and for building your own personal collections from that content. It requires no account and collects no personal data; see our Privacy Policy for details.

Content and copyright

The prayer and hymn texts in the App come from a mix of sources: material that is in the public domain, and material used with permission from its rights holders. Every piece of content in the App has been reviewed for its copyright status before being made available, and only content that is confirmed public domain or explicitly permission-cleared is included.

You're welcome to use the App for personal worship, study, and ministry. Please don't republish or redistribute the App's content in bulk outside the App — if you believe any content is included in error, contact us using the details below and we'll look into it promptly.

Acceptable use

Use the App for its intended purpose of personal or congregational worship and study. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the App or the content service it depends on.

No warranty

The App is provided "as is." While we've taken care with the accuracy of the liturgical and hymn content, we don't guarantee it is complete, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of it.

Changes

We may update these Terms or the App from time to time. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
